Path to Peace

One side of the Path to Peace mat has blue footprints and the participant is called "Blue Feet". The other side of the mat has red footprints and that person is referred to as "Red Feet".

To Begin : Step up on the Path to Peace. Take 2 deep breaths.
2 Step 1: Red Feet uses an "I feel" sentence to explain what is bothering him. Blue Feet listens and then paraphrases back what Red Feet said.

Step 2: Red Feet offers a solution, in the form of "I would like you to....". Blue Feet listens and paraphrases back what Red Feet said.

Step 3: Blue Feet offers a solution, "How about if we.....". Red Feet listens and paraphrases back what Blue Feet has said.

4 Step 4: Both students discuss the different solutions and agree on one to try. They shake on it and exit in peace!

Ms Robinson follows up in one week to see if the students are sticking to their agreement and they receive applause from their classmates if they are!
