As crews continue to make progress on the new Fisher Elementary School, the public can watch right along.

A webcam located at the construction site at Fisher offers both images and time-lapse compilations of the progress at the site, which now offers views of a framed structure.

For a link of the camera, either visit the district’s webpage and look to the bottom right or go directly to: http://sumas.lynden.wednet.edu/Webcams.html.

The camera went live in mid-December and will track the progress at the school until completion of the project.

With the west end of the school already framed, the next phase of the project moves workers toward the east, part of the plan to have the new Fisher built and stocked in time for school in the fall.

Framing on the more complicated west end includes the new gym, offices, cafeteria, stage, kitchen and library on the second floor. The next phase will move more quickly as the classroom section to the east provides for a more streamlined construction process.

As work gets going on the framing at the new Lynden Middle School project, expect a webcam for that project too, likely this spring.
